Vision

Ok, here are the nuts and bolts of the new Wolf Connection Ranch ... of course to be developed over the next couple of years ...

First of all here is the aerial picture of the property so you can all get a visual ... 30 amazing acres with a year-round creek, several acres of forest, high desert landscape, trails, and beautiful views:

Our new home represents a tremendous effort on the part of many volunteers as well as contributions of money and materials from many generous donors.  We are not finished yet, but as with any beautiful vision, knowing what it will eventually be drives us to finish the work that will make the vision reality.  Moving the pack in January made Wolf Connection Ranch reality.  Now we need to work to complete the vision.  Here then, is Teo’s vision for Wolf Connection Ranch.

GUIDED TOUR:  Imagine a day in the near future when you will come to visit Wolf Connection Ranch (WCR). As you drive through the main gate heading south, you immediately see the organic farm. There, visitors, campers, and volunteers will be able to enjoy, learn about, and care for the farm animals, vegetable gardens and fruit trees.  Most of the delicious food at WCR is grown on site ... milk, eggs, cheese ... avocados and grapes, lemons and oranges, apples, guavas and figs, melons, plums and persimmons. Tomatoes and lettuce, beets and spinach, cabbage, potatoes, sweet potatoes and yams, carrots, kale, and a large assortment of medicinal and cooking herbs are all grown here and make eating at WCR a back-to-our-essence experience on its own.

You can decide to make a stop there or then continue further into the property. As the organic farm ends, the first wolf & wolfdog turnout begins enclosing a portion of the lush forest and natural creek to the West (right in the picture). To the East (left), a trail head leads to the campground only two hundred yards away. You reach the parking lot as you drive around the second wolfdog turnout, higher and more desert-looking than the first one, pass the human quarters area heading West, to finally turn into a short driveway overlooking the entire valley.

As you leave your car and walk to the reception area the real adventure begins. From there you can see the challenge course to the North right ahead and down into the valley, with the organic farm further away. Down the trail to the right, the guest cabins followed by the gym, central shower-and-bathroom building, and the central kitchen and eating hall ... with the wolfdog compound further to the East.

Once refreshed you are guided by our staff though all kinds of activities ranging from organic gardening to hikes with our pack ... for the kids: challenge course, adventures in the forest hanging from trees, rappelling, or building a fort. For everyone: tai qi, qi gong, and guided meditations at one of our gathering rooms ... horseback riding, outdoor instruction, archery, or simply take the time to wander the grounds, stop at one of the many meditation spots, look within and connect with nature and the peace around you.

For those staying multiple nights you are down for a treat and serenade by our singing pack ... or not :) since that will depend on how they feel that night.

I certainly hope I helped you see this facility as clearly as I see it and dream it myself. There is a long way to go until the day I just described actually happens but we are fully committed to make one step after the next until it all materializes. All the right people are being attracted by the animals and the children to the project. They are showing up one by one, each with a small piece of the puzzle.

Wolf Blessings to all Teo Alfero and the Wolf Connection Team
